Eşi Salvatore tarafından kurulan, Floransalı ayakkabı üreticisinin onursal başkanı Wanda Ferragamo, 96 yaşında hayatını kaybetti. Wanda kocasını 58 yıl önce kaybetti. Salvatore Ferragamo’nun başına, 16 yaşındaki kızları ile birlikte geçti ve kısa süre içerisinde altı çocuğunu yetiştirirken işleri yürütmeyi de öğrendi. Wanda ayakkabı üreticisini uluslararası bir moda devine çevirdi ve faaliyetlerini aksesuar ve giyim alanında da genişletti. Giovanna, Ferruccio, Leonardo ve Massimo Ferragamo çalışanlarına yaptıkları açıklamada annelerinin ölümünü büyük bir acıyla duyurduklarını ifade ettiler.
Wanda Ferragamo, the honorary president of the Florentine shoemaker founded by her husband Salvatore, has died at the age of 96, the family said on Friday. Wanda was left a widow 58 years ago when her husband passed away. She took charge of Salvatore Ferragamo alongside her 16-year-old daughter, quickly learning how to run a business while raising her six children. Wanda turned the shoemaker into an international fashion powerhouse by extending the business to accessories and clothing. “With immense pain… we want to tell you about our mother’s passing,” Giovanna, Ferruccio, Leonardo and Massimo Ferragamo said in a message to staff.
23 Ekim’de İngiliz Moda Kurulu (British Fashion Council) bu yılın Moda Ödülleri (Fashion Awards) adayları listesini açıkladı. 10 Aralık’ta Londra’da Royal Albert Hall’da gerçekleştirilecek tören, İngiliz moda tasarımının en iyilerinin yanı sıra uluslararası modelleri ve moda evlerini ödüllendirecek. İngiliz Moda Kurulu’nun ünlü Moda Ödülleri 2018 yılında moda sektöründe iz bırakan markaları, tasarımcıları ve modelleri ödüllendirecek. Her yıl Aralık ayında düzenlenen Moda Ödülleri, geçtiğimiz 12 aylık dönemin modasını değerlendiriyor ve yıla damgasını vuran sektör profesyonellerini tanıyor.
Erkek Giyim alanında İngiliz Tasarımcı için adaylar, Craig Green / Craig Green, Jonathan Anderson / JW Anderson, Kim Jones / Dior Homme, Martine Rose / Martine Rose ve Riccardo Tisci / Burberry.

On Tuesday, October 23, the British Fashion Council unveiled the list of nominees for this year’s Fashion Awards. The ceremony, held December 10 at London’s Royal Albert Hall, will celebrate the best in British fashion design, as well as international models and fashion houses. The British Fashion Council’s prestigious Fashion Awards will celebrate the brands, designers and models who made their mark on the fashion industry in 2018. Held in December each year, the Fashion Awards take stock of the last 12 months in fashion, recognizing the industry professionals who shone in the spotlight over the past year.
Nominees for the British Designer of the Year Menswear award are Craig Green for Craig Green, Jonathan Anderson for JW Anderson, Kim Jones for Dior Homme, Martine Rose for Martine Rose and Riccardo Tisci for Burberry.

The first designs from Virgil Abloh’s debut men’s collection for Louis Vuitton — presented for the first time in June in Paris’s Jardin du Palais-Royal — have now landed at a pop-up store in London. The pop-up store — located on Bruton Street, a stone’s throw from the British capital’s Hyde Park — showcases a selection of pieces from the first, eagerly awaited men’s collection designed by Virgil Abloh for the French fashion house. The Louis Vuitton Instagram page shows pristine white garments as well as much more colorful creations, including lots of streetwear-inspired jackets.
Uluslararası Moda ve Fotoğrafçılık Festivali’nin profesyonel jürisi yarışmanın üç kategorisinin (moda, fotoğrafçılık ve aksesuar) her biri için finalistleri belirleyecek. moda kategorisi 1986’da fotoğrafçılık 1997’de ve aksesuarlar 2017 yılında sunulmaya başlandı. Geçtiğimiz yıl olduğu gibi başvuruların açılmasına her bir kategori için birer kısa film eşlik ediyor. Filmleri Soleil Rouge, sanat kolektifinden Elise Amblard ve Jalis Vienne yönetiyor. Eğlenceli ve hafifçe sürreel videolar farklı kişileri (sesli veya başka şekilde) festival başvurularının başladığını haber veren cümlenin farklı kısımlarını söylerken gösteriyor.
The Hyères Festival is back again. The famous competition for young designers has opened applications for its 34th edition, slated to take place from 25th to 29th April 2019, giving candidates until 26th November to sign up and until 1st December to submit their full applications. The International Fashion and Photography Festival’s professional jury will name ten finalists in each of the competition’s three categories, namely fashion, launched in 1986, photography, first introduced in 1997, and accessories, launched only two editions ago in 2017. Just like last year, the call for applications is accompanied by three short films (one for each category) co-directed by Elise Amblard and Jalis Vienne through artists’ collective Soleil Rouge. The playful and vaguely surreal videos feature different people saying –audibly or otherwise – parts of a phrase that announces that applications for the festival are now open.
